Two men arrested for suspected harassment

Two men suspected of being responsible for at least six cases of harassment have been arrested on Wednesday.
The men, aged 19 and 20, are suspected to have set fire to the front doors of their victims' flats in various estates including Whampoa, Toa Payoh, Bedok, Woodlands and Tampines.
In two cases, there was substantial damage to the surrounding area, including the shoe racks, electrical meter boxes and walls.
First time offenders convicted of harassment under the Moneylenders Act could be imprisoned for up to five years and fined between $5,000 and $50,000.
If there is damage to property, the offender could also be caned between three and six strokes.
