Thai polls close with army-backed PM tipped for defeat

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/thai-polls-close-army-backed-pm-tipped-defeat-3487231

Opinion surveys pointed to a resounding defeat for ex-army chief and coup leader Prayut after a campaign that played out as a clash between a young generation yearning for change and the traditionalist, royalist establishment. The main opposition Pheu Thai party, fronted by the daughter of billionaire former premier Thaksin Shinawatra, was ahead in final opinion polls.

Polls open in Turkey’s fiercely fought elections that could unseat Erdogan

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/14/europe/turkey-election-polls-results-erdogan-intl/index.html

Polls have opened in Turkey’s fiercely fought presidential and parliamentary elections that could bring an end to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s 20-year rule.

Sunday’s race poses the biggest challenge yet to Turkey’s strongman leader. He faces economic headwinds and criticism that the impact of the devastating February 6 earthquake was made worse by lax building controls and a shambolic rescue effort.

His main opponent is CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who represents an election coalition of six opposition parties. For the first time, Turkey’s factious opposition has coalesced around a single candidate. A candidate must win over 50% of the vote on Sunday night in order to be elected. Otherwise Turkey will head to a run-off on May 28.

elections should have been held in pakistan today as well but paki military installed civilian puppet govt didn't. next course of action might be more instability because of this, where the people will have to take matters into their own hands to assert their rights.

Wont the Turkish and Thai ruling parties just cheat during the Erections?

if NED is involved, they can out-cheat the cheating parties and install their preferred candidates. in thailand it has worked. let's see if it works in turkey or the turkish ppl have different opinions.
