Columbia is no shithole. It's a problem people should understand that majority of poor and destitute in Central and South America are native indians. Bumis like me. Their land were seized and distributed to the European colonizers. Just like how PAP did to Malays. And Jews to Palestinians.

Do consider the fact - LEADERS are ELECTED & supposed to uplift lives & ELEVATE/ PROGRESS society/civilization. Such result in changes, & on a personal level - personal mindsets, either one go with the flow based upon best choices or the best of worst choices, or else be CRUSHED by the Juggernaut of change, as Humanity has a manifest destiny to fulfill...

Ask yourself this - would you had been born to see the beauty of life, as well as the ugliness which EACH Human do have the intelligence to change & elevate lives, & see progress, baby steps if necessary, for oneself & loved ones if not for society - had you lived during the dark ages of Humanity, of domination, persecution, scamming leaders whom are only seeking power & riches for themselves, etc?

Back to the thread - ULTIMATELY, poverty is NO excuse for one's plight. LEADERS are supposed to lead. Columbia is indeed a shithole shadow-ruled by drug cartels for decades whom had spread their poison to BILLIONS of Humankind, making them addicted - becoming unproductive, losing their minds & eventually leading to annihilation of others in their society that DARED speak up against such evils.

BAD Leaders are only the few, but CITIZENS are in the many. The family is the building blocks of Civilization proven for centuries. Many succeeded, & many failed in uplifting attempts.

It lays in Leadership - does one have the balls to make a SYSTEMIC change. Bullies, whom are only in the few even if well armed, will only succeed if good Humans turn a blind eye to evil...& as long as one hold true to the progress of one's own nation & Humanity for better lives of loved ones which calls for beyond mortal personal sacrifices, evil - whom are only the few, WILL BE ERADICATED, because there are MORE of us than them...

May those returnees from USA back to Columbia realizes what a better life can be & turn around their own motherland & society for better....including you, Mr Syed Putra, who have only egoistical dreams & desires, but not the realization of REALTIES to uplift the lives of others even if you had had worked hard over years & succeeded in life, but with your clouded judgements spread to naive others ...overlooked what it takes to succeed it life....

It is said - when others throw lemons in the journey of one's life, one simply take those freely thrown lemons & turn them into lemonade drinks. Such are the basic hallmarks of a successful person.

On an intellectual level - it's about criticisms as well as critical thinking. This may had been what you had missed to impart to others whom² have different mindsets than yours in your delusions of grandeur to lead others & critically - what's next after achieving your goals - live & let die for those whom questioned yout incompetent leadership as no mortal is perfect but flawed ?.
