A 60-year-old semi-trailer driver was killed on the spot in Taiwan while trying to stop a runaway prime
mover with his bare hands.
The tragic accident took place while the 60-year-old was decoupling the prime mover from the parked
container at an industrial work premise.
CCTV images showed the prime mover began sliding down a slight slope as it was decoupled from the
container.
The panic 60-year-old immediately ran in front of the prime mover and tried to stop it's movement with
his bare hands.
Unfortunately, he was crushed to death when the prime mover hit the premise's wall.
Police are now investigating if it was a case of handbrake failure or the driver had forgotten to pull the
handbrake prior to decoupling the container.
