The debt crisis in Dubai has caused it to become the focus of world attention. This Middle East city used to be an unremarkable one some ten years ago, while now it is called a "mirage city" which has attracted the world's sight.

1. Super tall skyscraper: Burj Dubai

The tower, which has cost 80 billion U.S. dollars, is 818 meters high with 162 floors and is 310 meters higher than the 101 tower in Taipei. It started to construct in 2004 and will be finished before the end of December this year.

2. 0-14 Tower

The tower was specially designed for Dubai Business Bay by Reiser + Umemoto Company and Dubai's real estate developer Shahab Lutfi. The 22 floor high tower has two walls, the outside one is made from porous concrete which is specially designed for cooling.

3. Arabian Blade

This is a multi-functional tower which was designed by Claudio Catalano. The inspiration behind the building comes from plants. Arabian Blade will consist of several residential areas, one hotel and a business center.

4. Dancing Tower

The tower is planned to be constructed in the development zone of Dubai Business Bay.

5. Dubai Land Snow Dome
