Our beloved Minister Mentor returned from a private visit to India with a small bolt of silk of extraordinary design.

He consulted his tailor immediately, who assured him there was just enough fabric to fashion a suit that would fit him perfectly. Ecstatic, he dashed off to an official meeting in Hong Kong with Chief Executive Donald Tsang, bringing the silk with him.

Following the meeting, he couldn't resist sharing his excitement with Tsang, and asked if he could see his tailor for a second opinion.

Tsang's tailor was flabbergasted at the beauty of the silk, took MM Lee's measurements, and told him he could easily make him a suit and an extra pair of trousers.

Although MM Lee was perplexed, he said nothing because he was already late for a flight to Washington , where he was scheduled to meet US President Obama.

Following the meeting, he asked to see Obama's tailor, who took his measurements, and confidently told him he could make two suits and an extra pair of trousers from the bolt of Indian silk.

"What is it about your tailors," Lee later asked the American president, "that makes them so much better than tailors in Singapore and Hong Kong ? Mine said he could make me a suit out of this bolt of silk. Tsang's tailor said he could make me a suit and an extra pair of trousers. Your tailor, Mr President, can make me two suits and an extra pair of trousers. Is it your technology? Your superior productivity?" Answer below

Minister Mentor although fuming inside from President Obama's insult nevertheless played dumb and excused himself saying he had to fly off immediately to Beijing for some very urgent discussions with President Hu Jingtao.

After exchanging air kisses with the President, he requested for the best tailor serving the Politburo for a quote on making a full suit with trousers out of the silk from India. The tailor shortly arrived and with one glance at MM Lee and another at the bolt of silk declared with great confidence that he will immediately make ten full suits with trousers and underwear out of the silk. MM Lee was ecstatic to hear that as he needed to fly back to Singapore to attend the Parliament's Opening. He confessed to President Hu about Obama's insult telling him that the West will always look down on the East. A Chinese should only do business with a Chinese as descendants of the dragons. And so on his return to Singapore, he wore one of the suits made in China to Parliament's Opening. Next day, The Straits Times headline screamed.......................see below

No need to be defensive about the SDP connection. If there's none, there's none. It's not as if my any accusations or allegations here will count as earth shattering political news in Singapore. This is sammyboy after all. You are not telling people that this forum will cause the PAP MIW sleepless nights? I have repeated myself many times that if a moniker's posting is causing eyesore to me he or she will get the boot. In cyberspace you don't know who is typing behind the keyboard and a same person could be using multiple accounts. I don't reason with trolls that like to blame every damn thing on the SDP.
