Any fans of thunder tea rice (lei cha fan) here?
Where can you eat the best and most value for money thunder tea rice?
I heard that there is an outlet in the food court in vivo city selling, but I've never been there. Anyone tried before? How is the taste and the price?
I know of 2 good places, one in Geylang (one of the odd numbered lorongs) and one in the Yishun northpoint foodcourt.
You can't get value for money thunder tea rice. It's a Hakka con job.
The Hakkas like to bluff that a lot of hard work goes into it. Then they charge you sky high for that. People pay that kind of money because they are stupid and want to keep healthy but don't eat enough veg day to day.
Who in the world actually likes the taste of thunder tea rice except Hakkas?
Just boil some mix veg and top a bowl of rice, then pour hot green tea into the whole bowl. You can easily get the basil and mint from the supermarket.
Put it this way, a person won't normally eat the veggies put in thunder tea rice if it wasn't so expensive and he was told that it was good. These are the main ingredients in thunder tea rice:

Chinese Parsley & Coriander: Ease digestion & gastric, combat flu & headache.

The first four herbs are usually detested by people, normally meat lovers who do not like the grassy taste of veggies.
The last three are cheap ingredient meant to spice up the food by adding fried elements.
Thunder tea rice does not have enough beta carotene, which is a very important antioxidant. You can get that in carrots for example.
