Another three men have been arrested for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
Acting on information received, officers from Jurong Police Division arrested two men on Wednesday in the vicinity of Boon Lay MRT station.
They are believed to be debtors who went on to assist loanshark syndicates by performing electronic fund transactions via Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and facilitating loansharking activities by procuring other debtors' ATM cards and PIN numbers.
Three ATM cards, three mobile phones believed to contain debtors' records and suspected illegal cash proceeds amounting to S$1,000 were seized upon their arrest.
The third man, a 21-year-old, was detained a day later in the vicinity of Tampines Street 21 by officers from Bedok Police Division who were on anti-loansharking operations.
He is believed to have carried out loanshark harassment by splashing paint and writing loanshark-related graffiti on the walls of debtors' units in the Tampines housing estate.
