HK Man Beaten By M’sian Patron With Plastic Chair For Bringing 2 Dogs Into Seremban Kopitiam

While some kopitiams in Malaysia do not allow patrons to bring their pets with them into the premises, it’s still not an excuse to assault those who unknowingly or deliberately break the rule.
A hot-headed man landed himself in trouble with police after he decided to take matters into his own hands by beating a Hong Kong man who brought two dogs with him into a coffee shop located in Seremban, Negri Sembilan.

The trouble all began when the 61-year-old Hong Kong man and his Malaysian wife went to a kopitiam located at the Oakland commercial centre on Monday (July 17) at around 1pm with two Pomeranian dogs.According to CCTV footage which has gone viral online, it showed a man clad in a grey t-shirt and jeans picking up a plastic chair and beating the Hong Kong man with it.
Completely taken aback by the assault, the Hong Kong man fell to the ground and had a few kicks landed to his body before he was dragged to a corner by the angry patron.
As the duo continued to scuffle at the corner, several other customers tried to break up the fight, including the Hong Kong man’s wife, who restrained the patron with one arm and the other carrying a black Pomeranian dog.
China Press reported that the patron became angry when he saw the couple bringing the dogs into the coffee shop and initially wanted take photos of them and post it on social media before it escalated into a physical altercation.
Arrested by police for assault
As a result of the fight, the Hong Kong man sustained injuries to his hands and feet, as well as bruises on his left hand, arm, and toes。China Press later reported that a police report was lodged over the incident, leading to the arrest of the 49-year-old Malaysian man at his home at 10pm yesterday (July 19), where he is now investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt.
Netizens were largely split on the issue, with many praising the man for teaching the Hong Kong man a lesson.
On the other hand, others felt that the patron could’ve politely told to the Hong Kong man not to bring his pets instead of resorting to violence.
Violence is never the answer to resolving conflicts. If you see someone breaking the law, best to report them to the authorities!
