SUBANG JAYA: A man suddenly went berserk just because an employee of a restaurant in Putra Heights, here called him uncle, yesterday.
Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, said the incident happened around 9am when the suspect, a local man, asked the victim to call him brother or baby.
According to him, the actions of the victim, who was also a local man, kept calling him uncle, which made the suspect angry and went on a rampage, throwing food and hot drinks until he hit a 4-year-old child.
"After the victim handed over the ordered food and drink package, the suspect continued to act aggressively by shouting abuse and threatening to damage property and make a mess.
"The suspect threw packages of food and hot drinks into the restaurant space. The complainant (restaurant owner) made a report today after finding the video in question went viral on social media," he said in a statement today.
Wan Azlan said the suspect also threw several chairs and kicked the table several times, causing fear to customers who were eating at the premises.
"Efforts to locate the suspect are being actively carried out to help the investigation be carried out under Section 506 / 352 of the Penal Code.
"Anything related to or seen as a suspect should be channeled to the Subang Jaya District Control Center on 0378627100 or Investigating Officer Inspector Dinesh Ganasan, 01133094457. The identity of the informant will be kept confidential," he said.
