SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has called on Facebook to disable access to a post containing religiously offensive material, it said, adding that the police are investigating the matter.

Facebook has agreed to do so, the ministry said in a statement on Friday (March 20).

The post, put up by a Facebook page called NUS Atheist Society, depicts the Bible and Quran as alternatives to be used in the event of a toilet-paper shortage.

The ministry said that “a number of complaints have been received” about the post.

“The MHA and the police take these sorts of statements very seriously. We have asked Facebook to disable access to the religiously offensive post, highlighting the importance of racial and religious harmony in our society.”

MHA stressed the need for the public to be mindful when participating in online discussions and not post any remarks which are prejudicial to the maintenance of racial and religious harmony in Singapore.

Holy books are only pieces of paper with some religious sctpits written on it.
None of the holy books were written by the supposed messiah or prophets themselves. But written by the so called disciples.
In Islam case, there were many changes in leadership during the initial,phase and the leader during a particular time gets to choose which script they wish to include in the holy book.
The statement regarding a certain prophet getting married to a 9 year old was written 2 generations after the death of the prophet. No other historical records showed it happened or if the prophet actually exist. The conquered people never mentioned the name M9hamad or islam when they were overwhelmed. They just said the Arabs attacked and won.

Nobody can verify if the messages were genuine.
If based on the Quran alone, there were no rituals so steadfastly adhered by Muslims, mentioned. Not in a detailed manner. Like some verses were added on to justify certain actions.

Even though the images are blurry they still look like the Bible and Quran to me. SPH should be charged for spreading the images. This is especially so for the Quran as that distinctive design is almost universal.

If SPH can get away with just adding a bit of Gaussian blur then I should be able to post porn that is out of focus and escape the wrath of the authorities too.
