Third Population White Paper protest draws smaller crowd

Some issues cant be exploited forever. The White Paper issue has lost currency, and the organisers ought to have known that rather than flog a dead horse. Either find a new angle or a new issue, and then thrash it well. Why not protest over COE prices? Or the jam-packed trains? Or demand for greater transparency and accountability in the FCF?

Dr Chee Soon Juan and a group of SDP members attended the 3rd PWP event at the Hong Lim Park on 5 Oct 2013, after their SDP party conference, in the third hour of the protest.

He was not one of the scheduled speakers, but took the stage to cheers when invited by Mr Gilbert Goh.

Below is a video clip, showing the short impromptu guest speech given by Dr Chee Soon Juan.

If you want to watch the original youtube video for the entire event lasting 225 minutes, the link is as follows:

If the links given in my above post do not work properly, below is a link to another similar video of Dr CSJ's impromptu speech on 5 October 2013 in HLP.

The initial anger and adverse reaction has been washed away with time. Singaporeans know they have to move on with their lives.

The smaller turn-out does not mean the TPWP is forgotten. The protest note/message is understood, no need to raise it again. Save it for 2016 and this piece of TPWP will be the bane of PAP come 2016 when sinkies are reminded about it by SDP, WP, etc.
