SEREMBAN - A thief drove away a car with three children inside while their mother went to shop at a mini-market here.
He did not only steal the car with the three children, but he also brought his own wife and three young children in it.
The victim – a 42-year-old housewife – had earlier stopped her car outside the mini-market at Taman Desa Dahlia but left the engine running with her three boys still inside.
Suddenly, a man dashed into the Proton Wira and drove off.
Apart from her children, aged 11 months, three years and 12 years, he also brought his wife and three young children with him.
The shocked car owner screamed for help during the 2.30pm incident on Thursday but no one came to her aid.
Negri Sembilan CID chief Asst Comm Hamdan Majid said the man then dropped off the victim’s 11-month-old and 12-year-old children near the Giant Hypermarket some distance away.
“The suspect was arrested 40 minutes later along Jalan Labu when we launched a series of roadblocks.
“The victim’s three-year-old son was still inside. The suspect’s wife and three young children were also in the car,” he said.
ACP Hamdan said the 32-year-old suspect from Senawang had several criminal records.
He has been remanded for four days.
