IN AN ongoing effort to ensure safe travel, Changi Airport recently tested a machine that can detect traces of explosives on passengers. During the trial, which was conducted at Terminal 1 last month, passengers selected at random were asked to walk through the machine, called the IonScan Sentinel II, which uses jets of air to dislodge particles and vapours on a person's body or clothes. A scanner which can detect more than 40 types of explosives then takes just a few seconds to analyse the samples collected.

erm.. i recall it was in use in a couple of other airports. then they took it out as there was too many false positive. how would the one here solve this issue?

budget airlines will offer another cheaper alternative - (1) clothed section (20 naked section...

The naked section, will get a faster boarding for there will only be random checking of the orifices...for they have nothing to hide or declare:D

Those passenger who do gardening will set off the alarm because of the trace nitrate particles on their body.

Unlikely to work lah. Some people want to show off their branded stuff.

Got many aunties who worry about being visually raped. For others it is very disturbing to see so much flesh. :)
