Sadly, in this age of Artificial Intelligence, instead of using such for the progress & evolution of Humankind, some had only use it for nefarious purpose.
Fortunately, Human Intelligence is still FAR ahead than any greedy selfish Human can attempt to use IMAGES to cheat others for personal gain. Thus may NO fellow Human be cheated & must always CRITICALLY think twice for EACH & every image they come across, regardless if harmless or harmful in content, before taking any ACTION - to believe or not.
Even in the age BEFORE AI could manipulate images, already many in the DIGITIZED image industry had found out CLUES to determine for themselves if an image is real or not, even from OFFICIAL pics from institutions such as NASA, which works even today in our YET TO BE REGULATED imaging processes.
1. A DIGITIZED image is made of pixels - simple squares, no matter the RESOLUTION, even 4K standards. When EXPANDED by a simple MAGNIFIER app, which is included in any computer operating systems - apple or microsoft, it will show up EACH pixel square if it had been tampered with, thru the surrounding areas thru SMUDGING efforts - as smudging technique cannot be hidden by taking account of surrounding areas.
2. For a face to be replaced with another, such a face would NEED to be in the SAME direction spot where the light is for SHADOWS to be casted, almost an impossible task as each pic is taken under different light density. Attempts can be created by SMUDGING to CREATE the light shadow, but will be easily found out by the pixel scrutiny method.
There are many more ways to identify fakes from real. All it needs is Humanity to share the methods & take some time - only a few minutes - from blundering into make wrong decisions based upon the reality of sight that UNREGULATED AI by various vendors are attempting to heap upon us.
SO, are those 2 pics real?
Sadly, no. The body is real BUT the face is not that which belonged to such a body.
a) the light tones on skin & body is different, while some will claimed that she applied more powder to whiten her face, which may be true as some models had been known to do such. HOWEVER -
b) The SHADOWS casted on BOTH face & body showed differences. The body showed light being casted from her left hand side of the body while the face showed light being casted from her right hand side.
Thanks for the pics & post, and the insignificant nobody me hopes such a post will shed light upon how AI & its Human accomplices will attempt to cheat others, & that may Humankind be cautious towards Generated AI images.
