This 156-meter long monster is a true Motherland’s defender. The guided missile destroyer Bespokoiny is powered with a total of eight Moskit 3M80E missiles, two Shtil surface-to-air missile systems, 130-mm artillery complex and so on.

Sovremenny class destroyers (or Project 965) are the principal anti-surface warships of the Russian Navy.
Bespokoiny is a multipurose high-speed combat ship which primary role is to attack enemy warships while also providing sea and air defense for warships and transports under escort.
The ship was launched on June 9th, 1990. It took them about three years to built it.
Technical characteristics:
Horsepower: 100,000;
Speed: 32.7 knots;
Autonomy: 30 days;
Cruising range: 3,920 miles;
Displacement: 8,000 tons.
The K-130 is a 130-mm automatic gun with a shooting range of 23 km.
Project 956 guided missile destroyers had been actively used up to the end of the cold war.
The ship features 16 watertight sectors and a lot of low-alloyed steel construction elements.
It was the first to be equipped with an automatic re-charging mechanism AK-130.
It also features time-fuse and radar fuse missiles.
The ship’s helicopter pad accommodates one Kamov Ka-27 anti-submarine warfare helicopter.
The ship is outfitted with the Raduga Moskit anti-ship missile system with two four-cell launchers installed. The ship carries a total of eight Moskit 3M80E missiles. The missile is a sea-skimming missile with velocity of Mach 2.5, armed with a 300 kg high-explosive or a nuclear 200 kt warhead. The range is from 10 to 120 km. The launch weight is 4,000 kg.
“Do not walk during rotation!”
It shows a good floodability and survivability due to its steel constructions separating explosive sectors of the ship.
Type 956 originally only carries the hull mounted array because the ASW gear of this class is primarily for self-defense.
The ship’s propulsion system is based on two steam turbine engines each producing 50,000 hp together with four high-pressure boilers. There are two fixed-pitch propellers. The ship’s maximum speed is just under 33 knots. At a fuel-economic speed of 18 knots the range is 3,920 miles.
The maximum wave height the ship is able to withstand is 12 m.
The ship’s crew is 296 people in peacetime and 358 people in wartime (including 25 officers, 48 warrant officers). Today’s service period for draftees is one year which is not enough to learn how to operate a combat ship like this. After one year, they get transferred to the reserve. According to officers, the only way out is to increase the number of contract seamen.
Cat named Tyoma is nodding by the book of distinguished guests which, among others, includes an autohraph of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
The crew of Yaroslav Mudry (Wise) moored next to Bespokoiny consists of contract seamen only.
