For too long (50 years), Singapore has been using the weapons of propaganda, repression of expression and control of media to solve its internal and external problems. Good and clear examples of the constant use of MSM to propagate the State’s view as the Holy Grail, the ridicule and suppression of opposing or even different opinions through the legal and MSM system, and needless to add, the iron clad control of all public media in Singapore are repeatedly exposed in the its purest brazen form.
The abuse of the rule of law, the double standards imposed on law abiding citizens, and the web of hypocrisy surrounding the network of grassroots cronyism are heavily laden with irrefutable hard evidences of abuse. Along with the consistent persecution and demonization of any aspiring opposition or a citizen that dares to speaks his mind, and supported by the benevolence gained through the excessively fat rewards to the brown nosed no self esteemed, a State in perpetual control of the masses is created and sustained through the 50 years of Singapore’s history.
There are of course good things that have happened to Singapore and this has primarily taken place during the nurturing years of statehood, helmed under the first generation of leaders called the Old Guard. These are members of a committed, passionate and highly intelligent individuals like LKY (when he was younger), GKS, TCC, Rajarathnam, Devan Nair….. During this era, positive and heartening testimonials of the Old Guard are generally acknowledged with gratitude and appreciation from Singaporeans.
Today’s world brings different challenges with a highly educated and internationally exposed citizenry, augmented with a real time highly accessible information system called the internet.
It is therefore truly pathetic and highly unimaginative that the current gaggle of grossly overpaid and under talented individuals are still resorting to the legacy of LKY’s control of the State approach to problem solving. In the past, with the tight control exerted by the State, mistakes are hidden and swept under the carpet. In today’s world, mistakes are reported worldwide within 24 hours. The leaders of Singapore are clueless on how to address the new environment, and have instead resorted to the old draconian principles of suppression by authority and force. The SOP of responding to PAP screw-ups are :
These approaches however comes with a double edged sword. Any actions taken immediately comes under public scrutiny, and are heavily commented or even championed against on local and international social media. Another repercussion to this approach is the immediate exposure and subsequent double standard contradictions of similar wrongdoings by the PAP establishment. These continued inadequate or unaddressed incidences will lead to the slippery erosion of trust, integrity and credibility of the PAP and the government establishments.
For example, hard evidence on video of the illegal parking by a PAP grassroots leaders in Siglap filmed by a citizen on a LTA enforcement officer saying on tape that he had direct instruction from his supervisor not to issue traffic parking ticket to community event taking place at Siglap CC. Till today, no news. So conclusion is double standards and PAP and its cronies are above the law.
Another more recent example is the action taken against Amos smacks of double standards on the application of the law when similar actions shows slack in urgency / NOT TAKEN against Ello and the infamous PAP Jasons. Another example of double standard application of the law, depending on your nationality or political affiliation.
Another disturbing fact is that the implementation of the legal actions against Amos far outweigh the alleged crimes committed. Handcuffing and ankle cuffing a 16 year old teenager???? Slapping a bail of 20K ????
When you compare the charges against Amos, and then weigh that against the zero actions taken against the Jasons and the 3 month investigation and still nothing done to Ello, one cannot help but conclude that there is an agenda.
Similarly, when one reviews the numerous incidents (too many to list here) and the follow on actions or inactions of the State, one can only conclude on the irrefutable evidence that damns the State on its culpability to the brazen application of double standards on the rule of law in Singapore. One standard for PAP and its cronies, one standard for foreigners, and the last and the blame it all on standard for all the rest Singapore citizens.
Our founding fathers started and built Singapore on an ideology of anti colonial rule, self dependency, equality opportunity and prosperity for a multi racial society. Somewhere along the way, LKY decided that Singaporeans are daft and not capable of self determination (proof – Aljunied elections). LKY decided the State takes absolute precedence over the individual.
What started as a journey of integrity and meritocracy is today nothing more than a disguise of a government indulging in elitism, greed and cronyism, riding on a Machiavellian system achieved at the expense of the citizenry, courtesy of LKY. Somewhere along the line when the PAP old guards left one-by-one, LKYism took over.
Just like it was said recently, LKY did not do it alone, he had a team. Similarly, LKY did not do the good and bad alone, he had a team. Unfortunately, the team did not stop him from the doing the bad, and
thus the legacy is left to us today to resolve (how could they stop him when they are all proteges of LKY?). Of course, we can kick the can down the road to our children and their children but by then, Singapore may not exist anymore.
The only resolution I believe is to change the current draconian system that stifles democracy and condones the abuse of the rights of the citizenry.
And the only way to achieve this is to VOTE THEM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 Parliament debates whereby the PAP MPs overwhelms any opposition by sheer numbers. Good example is population whitepaper.
7 Internet IB – the only new and diabolical idea. Unfortunately, the IB strategies are easily caught by netizens through quick cross referencing searches. The IB strategies are
a. Create positives about PAP through ‘likes’ and positive comments. Fake users are created by the thousands by the IB.
b. Counter anti PAP comments by flooding the website. Unfortunately, this IB strategy brings only ire and disgust from the net citizens because they focus on personal attacks and avoid addressing the topic. Even then, IB comments are heavy on insults, highly opinionated, and zero on facts. Even the so called scholarly statesman CCS is only capable of insulting the individual and not being able to address the subject matter, a behavior most unbecoming of a statesman.
c. Go covert by pretending to be anti PAP and using subtle postings to minimize and trivialize PAP negatives. Their strategy is to project a balanced opinion with a slight bias towards PAP.
d. Setup seemingly anti PAP website but promoting PAP in a subtle sub conscious manner (mothership.sg sponsored by ex-PAP MPs and Ministers is a good example).
