There was an article whereby an expat woman recalled the time when she first arrived in SG, and a colleague of friend brought her to eat rojak, saying that it was a local salad. In the article, she proceeded to bitch about how horrible it was, with "deep fried items and a unhealthy sauce".
While I can understand that rojak does not suit everyone's taste, I found her attitude and behaviour appalling. She should have been more grateful for the person bringing her to try something new and been more polite and gracious. She didn't have to pretend to like it, but she could have at least been gracious.
To the silly Singkie who brough her around and to all Singkies who have the priviledge or task of bringing other such people around:
If they are rude, ungrateful or snobbish, just leave them wherever they are, and walk away. They are not worth the trouble and time.
To all expats and foreigners who have been shown kindness by Singkies:
Be courteous, gracious and grateful. Say thank you. Be honest but gracious. If you can't do this, fuck off to your own country.
