The Need for Good Governance
By John Salag
Sex videos seem to be UMNO’s favorite tool to tarnish its political opponents. They must have spent time, money and effort to set up the action in their sex videos. They must have invested a lot on the actors.
To sustain their corruption and maintain power in government, they spend more time producing sex videos than managing the affairs of the nation with competence. Are they trying to compete with the Porn industry?
Politicians and leaders are elected to office so they can serve the people, and defend the country from external aggressions.
Surrounding nations that were once developing countries (Third World) have now become First World countries like Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. In contrast, Malaysia under UMNO/BN is still limping as a developing nation after more than 50 years of independence.
Poverty and illiteracy still plague the nation. Corrupted officials are more obsessed with self-aggrandizements, than eradicating the ills of society and elevating the standard of living of and providing adequate education to the nation.
Had UMNO/BN performed well in governance, Malaysia would be like Singapore by now.
Singapore is a small country. It does not have natural resources. But it has excellent government that ensures that the nation is educated and meritocracy is valued irrespective of race, religion and creed. In less than two decades from being an independent country, Singapore leaped from a Third World to a First World nation in 1981.
If UMNO/BN thinks that producing sex videos to defame its political opponents will help develop the nation, they must be insane. For this reason, the voters need to wake up and say “enough to this crap” and dethrone them in the coming election.
It is time for a change-real change where Malaysia will have new leaders who are highly educated, competent and dedicated in managing the affairs of the nation, and putting Malaysia on a pathway of being competitive and becoming a First World country like Singapore.
