During my NS days, the non-muslim cookhouse is actually halal in practice. The submarine squadron is probably the only unit in SAF that can go truely non halal.

The submarine must stink of pork and lard wok hei for weeks. All that remnants of lard sticking up the uniforms and nostrils. PAP hopefully gives generous hardship allowance to these poor souls.

I'm sure navies like china, Malaysia, indonesia and Russia who do not take women on board their submarines, will have technologies to detect menstrual blood emitted by enemy subs into the water.
