The Combative But Illogical Young

Does anyone have the impression that the young people in SG these days are combative but illogical?
For example, if you tell them that they are doing something wrong, not only will they not stop doing it or admit that they are wrong, but instead try to pick a fight or a quarrel?
That their sense of right and wrong, of being able to admit mistakes, of realizing that what they are doing is inconsiderate, is all warped?

Whose fault is it? Their parents? Themselves? Their teachers? Society? Government?

IMO -> Their parent and the society.... but all these fall back to the government.....

Society is changing when government come up with new policy, regulation, etc....

Parent is changing when society change.....

I notice that from my 3yo kid too. I think it from the parents, it does not help when my wife pamper him, make it difficult for me to correct his behaviour. In a way, it reflected from our society, to admit mistake it a weakness. I also see this from my younger colleagues, die die not their faults when something wrong happen and never apologies for the problems they had caused.

As a parent, we must have a clear understanding of the society... when we teach our kids, we cannot be biased, we must stand on a neutral ground.... to teach them the right and wrong.... Parent, like us, should learn to keep our promise and be honest to our kids... Our kids look at us and learn from us when they are young... so we must set a good example to them... the least we can do is to build a good foundation for them, before they go out to the society to learn and let them learn to differentiate the good or bad..... if they are of close relationship with their parent, whatever they learn, they will share with their parent, and thats the time, parent can guide them along and teach them........ just my suggestion...

It's the older people who created this whole sub-prime mess, with all that
cheating, lying of THEIR OWN PEOPLE -- ie: Bernie Madoff is a jew who cheats jews, Americans get cheated by American bankers.

PLEASE DON'T TELL ME THESE ARE YOUNG PEOPLE.

With old people like that, what do you expect of the young they spawned?

DUH!!! So there.

If the young people now ever grow up to create problems of this magnitude, then old people are qualified to diss them.

Just be glad the young people are too stupid to blame the old for this kind of shit they are in now.

That why when i am at home, i no give face. Will scold my boy and even take out the cane whenever needed. Dont give me crap abt reasoning with a 3yo kid, all a 3yo kid will understand is the power of a cane, not reason.

had seen how my elder sis kids become, also use the reasoning nonsense, until now totally lose control that both sis & her husband must use the cane extensively. haha...

That really depends on the kid in question. Do you think some kids will listen to reason even when they are 10 years old?

Just ask your wife to visit some of the murderers in prison. They were spoiled rotten by their mothers, who never cease to think that their boy is innocent.

A spoiled son is a product of a benevolent mother -- old chinese saying.

You should talk to your wife properly. No use if you play bad cop and she's spoiling the kid behind your back.

I've had students like that who have turned out very badly. Never underestimate the power of a mother who spoils her son rotten.

Another approach is to let go... bo chap and bo hiew your kid and wife.... let them do what they want... let your wife do the teaching and everything... let her learn the hard way.... all you need is to tell your wife off whenever she come to seek your help.... (this is a devil approach and it might cause alot of unhappiness in your marriage... but it helps alot if your wife know your good intention at the end.... )
