I didn't use to think that there were any benefits in stomping. Generally stompers give the impression that they know someone is doing something that is not right, but they don't have the courage and the conviction to approach the person and tell him to stop.
But a recent trip on the mrt has changed my mind.
3 young men were sitting on the "reserved" seats. When the train started getting crowded with people including the elderly, one of them told the others to get up and said "If we don't get up, later kenna stomped."
Hahaha.
If these young people can't do the right things through the examples and advice of their parents and teachers or through their own thought process, at least they do it for fear of getting stomped.
Whatever works in pragmatic SG.
