HM the King not giving much anticipated birthday speech
HM the King assigned HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to receive birthday well wishes from government servants and the public on Thursday because he was little ill
Acting Prime Minister Chaowarat Charnveerakul read well-wishing statement for HM the King. The Crown Prince then told the audience that HM the King assigned him to receive the well wishing on his behalf.
"HM the King has thanked you for the wishes given out of loyalty. He wants to return the good wishes. He wants everyone to have strong mental and physical health to perform their duties for the public,'' the Prince told the audience.
The Prince told the audience that Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn who visited HM the King would give the information on HM the King's sickness.
The princess said HM the King initially planned to chair the ceremony to mark his 81 st birthday anniversary on Friday and gave birthday speech before the civil servants and the public at the Dusitalai Hall.
But his condition is still not recovering to the expected condition, the princess said.
"Yesterday, HM the King was eating fine. But today the King suffered from bronchitis and has a lot of phlegm. HM the King cannot have his meal, doctors then gave him saline solution. HM is weak but has no fever. Doctors suggested that HM to rest as much as possible until His majesty regain his strength," the Princess said.
"His condition is not serious. He is weak," the princess said.
