Tested out iPad just now

Went to Plaza Sing just now and happened to pass by a corner in Best Denki selling Apple products. The latest iPad was available for testing. A notice stated "iPad has sold out, and we are unsure of shipment note. Please leave your contact details with us and we will inform you when it arrives".

So queued (yes must queue) to try the iPad. Feels v responsive. Screen size is big. Not really light. I am sure you cannot hold it with one hand for long.

I have heard that this piece of crap cannot handle flash, so i decided to try it out. True enough. I entered the Stomp url, and we all know Stomp website got many flash videos. There was only a stupid cube to indicate cannot support the format.

Price is around $1k for 32gig capacity for the Wifi+3g version. :oIo::oIo::oIo:

A slim slick netbook was better than this anytime. You need not purchased much software too as you can use the software from your bigger laptop. 1 license let you install on 2 computer.

On the other hand, all iPad software need to be purchased and it can only be used on the iPad, tied to Apple forever.

Oh yeah the iPad is also great for surfing websites like Stomp too. Just ignore the cube thingy.

My colleague got 1 few days after us launch..play around with it abit...dun find it impressive probably becoz i hab de ITouch...functions wise quite identical xcept 4 de size...then again nothing too wrong bout it's...something good too hav if got xtra cash...

Tried it out for a longer period yesterday...wifi is abit unstable...will suddenly lost connection for no reason...flash support is another pain...tried playing a tilt pad to control car game...de pad wasn't light n arm sore within 5 mins...typing isn't as easy as wat apple claim...whereas u can hold de ITouch n type with both thumb, it wasn't quite possible with Ipad coz of the bigger size...put it flat on the table, at certain angle de reflection quite bad...hold it with 1 hand and type with de other...again i get arm sore after a while...

Unlike the Itouch n Iphone which can b carry around easily...it is impossible for me to carry the pad around w/o catching everybody attention ...personally...i round it up as...din buy=save moni...

Tks you i stick with my Itouch...for another mth...b4 ditching it for Samsung Galaxy S... Oh did i mentioned de wonderful Itouch 1 day hang 5 time after upgrade to IOS4 :oIo:

I think the complainers are those who were expecting some kind of netbook functionality. When I 1st saw the iPad my 1st thoughts was how to connect an external storage,

I think most of the critics are missing the point. This is a new class of gadget & appeals to a different class of users.

I saw many senior citizens enthusiastically trying out the iPad. This class of users want something simple. So too do many non-techie users,

It may surprise some to know that some people are actually frighten of computers. They don't about bits, bytes, MHZ . They just wanted something simple & elegant. That's why the iPad is selling so well.

Agree there is a problem with viewing the screen when the unit is laying on a flat surface. However many of the better cases will hold the unit upright at an angle, making it easier to view the screen.

Don't forget that this is only version 1.0. In the future there may be different versions available e.g. the classic, nano versions.
