RE: Creative Technology shares purchased by Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council & staff bonuses
I am Eugene Yeo, Chief Editor of socio-political blog, Wayang Party.
Thank you very much for replying to my earlier queries on the bonuses of CDC staff through the media.
I am appalled that you do not know the amount of bonuses received by your CDC staff, but surely you must be aware of the investments made by Bukit-Panjang Town Council?
I happened to come across this article written by fellow blogger Mr Biao which was posted on 11 October 2007:
“While looking through Creative Technology’s latest Annual Report, I was surprised to see “Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council” listed as one of the majority shareholders with 530,000 shares currently valued at about S$3,000,000.“ (Source: mrbiao.com)
The closing price for 1 lot of Creative Technology share on 18 March 2009 is only S$3.40. This means that the shares held by the Town Council now is $3.40 x 530,000 = $1,802000 which translates into a paper loss of almost S$1.2 million dollars from its value in 2007 if the figures provided by Mr Biao were correct.
