SINGAPORE - A teenager who kicked and scratched a policewoman when she visited her flat to arrest her brother admitted to two charges in court on Tuesday.
Carmen Chng Jiawen was 16 when she refused to open the door to their Paya Lebar home and shouted vulgarities at officers in June 2013.
She later scratched the cop and kicked her in the knees and stomach.
After police managed to handcuff Carmen and take her to the police car, she swung her legs against one of the back doors and kicked a rear window.
Carmen, now 18, pleaded guilty to hurting a policewoman and causing mischief. Two other charges were taken into consideration.
She works in the service industry.
The defence counsel has asked for a probation instead of a prison sentence due to her young age.
Community court judge Mathew Joseph has adjourned the case to Aug 13 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Anyone convicted of causing hurt to a public servant faces up to seven years' jail, a fine, caning or a combination of such punishments.
Carmen's brother Pierre Chng Yuheng, 19, was jailed for a week in March for contempt of court and fined $4,500 for two counts of criminal intimidation.
