The 13-year-old boy who adopted dogs for free and then sold them for pocket money has been given a conditional police warning.
Pet lovers on the Internet had been calling for action from the authorities since the scam came to light in May.
Posing as a grieving dog owner, the boy approached several people online and pleaded with them to let him adopt their pedigree dogs.

He was caught after two dog owners made police reports.
