SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a male and a female, both 17-years-old, for a series of thefts around Tanjong Beach at Sentosa.
They were arrested yesterday after a 25-year-old female reported that $30 in cash and $1,100 worth of valuables in her bag had gone missing.
Based on descriptions of the suspects from a passerby, Sentosa rangers managed to track down the duo later in the afternoon. Several personal documents believed to have been stolen were found in their possession at the time.
They were detained by the police who arrived at the scene shortly after.
The pair are also suspected to have been involved in at least three other similar cases of theft in the area.
Both suspects will be charged in court on Thursday.
If convicted, they may be jailed for a maximum of three years and shall also be liable to a fine.
