Teen girl found murdered
KOTA KINABALU: A 14-year-old girl was found murdered in Sabah’s interior Keningau district. Nassirah Jasto was found by her mother in a pool of blood in the kitchen of her house in Kampung Biah at about 1pm, Keningau police chief Deputy Supt Zahari Mohamed said yesterday. He said police have yet to establish the motive of the murder.
A parang, knife and scissors were placed next to the girl’s body. He said initial investigations showed that the girl was stabbed several times in the incident that took place between 11.10am and 12.30pm as the girl’s mother had left at that time to pick up another child from a nearby school.
In Sandakan, a 12-year-old girl was punched and robbed of her schoolbag by two men while on her way to school in Taman Mawar near Sibugaat at about 5.30am on Wednesday. The men grabbed her bag when she refused to hand it over and also beat her when she put up a struggle. A police report was lodged.
