A 19-year-old woman has claimed that her husband tried to strangle her after she refused his demand for sex, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The woman alleged that during the incident at their home in Teluk Intan on Tuesday, her 22-year-old husband also injured her hand with a knife.
She later lodged a police report after seeking treatment at a hospital nearby.
However, when the police went to their house, they found that the couple had gone missing.
"We found the door locked when we went to their home. The woman could not be contacted. We fear something bad may have happened," said Hilir Perak Deputy OCPD Asst Supt Mohd Zaki Harun.
