Teen ‘sells’ fiancee to settle gambling debt
A TEENAGER in Sarawak decided to “sell” the chastity of his fiancee to another man to pay off his gambling debts, reported Harian Metro. The tabloid said he allowed the heinous act to take place at his grandmother’s house in Lempaung, Betong. The incident allegedly occurred at about 8pm on Wednesday.
The woman had reportedly gone to spend the night at the house at the invitation of her fiance. However, the man later left the house on the pretext of meeting someone. Not long after that, another 19-year-old youth entered the house from the back door and entered the room where the woman was.
He ordered her to lock the door and then raped her. It is learnt that throughout her ordeal, the victim repeatedly cried for help but her fiance’s grandmother, said to be in her 60s, was helpless because the room was locked from the inside.
Betong OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the suspect fled after raping the girl but it did not take long for the police to track him down. The suspect was caught at about 2.30pm on Thursday with the help of villagers.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had made a pact with the victim’s fiance, also 19, that he could have sex with the woman should her fiance be unable to settle his gambling debts. The police have picked up the woman’s fiance as well.
