Covered up: Louise Yeoman arrives at Leeds Crown Court to plead guilty to ten sexual offences against a girl of 15

A school teacher has been warned she faces jail after admitting having lesbian sex with a 15-year-old pupil. Louise Yeoman, 29, pleaded guilty at Leeds Crown Court to ten sexual offences between December 2008, when the girl was 15, and March this year. Yeoman admitted three charges of sexual activity with a child involving touching the girl, including one using a sex toy and two charges of inciting the teenager to engage in sexual activity with her.

The other charges involve sexual activity by a person in a position of trust by knowing the girl was her pupil at a school in Wakefield. On Tuesday, the Recorder of Leeds Judge Peter Collier granted Yeoman, of Harrogate, North, Yorkshire, bail and ordered her to sign the sex offenders' register before adjourning the case. He told her: ‘The fact that I am giving you bail is no indication that a sentence will not be custodial.

‘All that is a matter for the judge you come before.’ The headteacher from the school said: ‘The safety and wellbeing of all our children is of paramount importance to this school. ‘As soon as the school became aware of the situation, we immediately suspended the member of staff and worked with the Police during their investigations.

‘I want to reassure parents and carers that the school takes safeguarding very seriously and provides support to pupils and staff where ever necessary.’ Yeoman's solicitor John Wilkinson said she was of previous good character until she started the lesbian affair. She will be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court next month.
