Nothing new and nothing exciting. There were much more of these 3 decades ago in Vietnam. Stale things. The VC even had underground hospitals. If the US wants to make big propaganda about this by calling it Operation Center they might as well call it Taliban Pentagon.

This sort of names shows the fact about how US lack understanding about
guerrilla warfare & the reason US kept losing fights against them.
One principal of guerrilla is
ANY WHERE ANY TIME ANY PLACE NO WHERE NO TIME NO PLACE. Or flexibility in one single word or adaptation in other view. There should be no fix Operation Center nor HQ. Any place can be HQ at any time and can be changed suddenly.
You can capture any position in guerrilla warfare and it is still not victory. If the Taliban had planed it to be captured by you and counting on you to do this then you had in fact lost.

The USA failed like hell in Vietnam and they had also captured complicated tunnel networks at some stage. They won some battles but lost the whole war.
Never learned their lesson. Taliban beat Soviet and will beat USA, but at a very high price just like Vietnam which also paid.
