Many senior citizens here, so hope to jolt your memories...
I remember the happiest day in my life was in 1969 when my primary school ( Elling North, Paya Lebar ) field is flooded to waist deep. You know being a boy you always wanted to play play. But not allowed to swim. Still spend the day wadding around.
On other occasions, whenever there are heavy rains, we group of boys will bring out our self make fishing net and go to the nearest longkang to catch garpies, fighting fish, tiger bard and even snake fish. Occasionally some farm fish like catfish, snakehead fish etc... could appear from nowhere.
