後來，邱合成欠下龐大債務，2009年案發前不久，還拿車子去典當，借了14萬元應急。同年11月7日晚間，邱打電話向陳志仁訴苦取暖，才得知陳竟然也將愛車典當，借了5萬元勉強度日。此時，同病相憐的二人，心中已被魔鬼悄悄佔據！

言談中，邱合成的腦海突然浮現鄭玉欽的身影，他認為適逢地方大選前夕，鄭的印刷廠應該承接不少候選人的生意，是隻口袋飽飽的肥羊，因此向陳志仁提議擄走鄭，然後向其家屬勒贖，聽了邱的綁票計畫，為錢所苦的陳竟如同著魔般跟著附和。

隔天下午1點多，邱合成、陳志仁相約一起前往桃園市區內的便利商店及五金行，購買膠帶、童軍繩等做案工具，還特地準備數顆鎮靜劑，以便控制鄭玉欽的行動，接著由邱打電話給鄭，邀約見面。

2009年11月，男子邱合成與獄友陳志仁因缺錢花用，將愛車典當借款，為贖回愛車，2人綁架桃園1家印刷廠的老闆鄭玉欽，並向家屬勒贖，但18萬贖款得手後，竟以拔河式手法勒斃肉票。由於2人拿取贖款時，不論面容、車號都毫無遮掩，被機警的家屬用手機拍下，成為警方緝凶的重要線索，如今2人雖已遭判刑定讞，但被害家屬心中的痛，卻永遠無法撫平！
