桃園市政府衛生局11日在臺灣桃園地方檢察署指揮下，配合調查局桃園市調查處及食品藥物管理署兵分兩路至元山蛋品有限公司（平鎮廠及龍潭廠）進行稽查，於平鎮廠查獲收購牧場疑似變質、腐敗的次級蛋品後再利用假日製成液蛋產品，現場封存1,620.5公斤並命業者暫停作業。此外於龍潭廠查獲貯存逾期液蛋25,200公斤，桃園衛生局已全數封存避免流入市面，另要求元山蛋品有限公司對已流入市面的疑慮液蛋產品進行回收，以保障民眾食品安全。
桃園衛生局查獲元山蛋品有限公司收購牧場疑似變質、腐敗的雞蛋後，再利用例假日將該等雞蛋加工成液蛋產品，現場共計封存68籃次級蛋品(殼蛋)816公斤、蛋黃液333.5公斤、蛋白液391公斤以及8大桶待分裝的蛋白液及蛋黃液計80公斤，總計數量1620.5公斤。

另查核該公司相關液蛋流向以販售到桃竹苗等三縣市的餐飲業及烘焙坊為主，桃園衛生局除令業者暫停作業外，對於該公司製造及貯存逾期蛋品，將分別依據違反食品安全衛生管理法第15條第1項第1款及第8款規定，同法第44條裁處新臺幣6萬元以上2億元以下的罰鍰，另全案是否涉及詐欺，已交由臺灣桃園地方檢察署進行偵辦。
衛生局呼籲業者，必須落實自主管理，善盡社會責任，另為防止業者心存僥倖，刻意規避公務機關上班時間而利用例假日進行加工，爾後將進行例假日及夜間不定期稽查，務求全年把關食安不中斷，也再次呼籲業者勿以身試法。衛生局也提醒民眾，若發現食安問題，可撥打0800-285-000檢舉專線，共同監督食品安全。
