Nasi padang and southern thai malay cuisine are totally different. Plenty of nasi padang but no southern thai malay food.
Otak otak ( solid fish meat and not grounded or fish paste ones) for example not in nasi padang menu.
And rendang not in malay southern thai menu. Not that i know of.
