Swimming pool thief caught red handed

SINGAPORE - A man suspected of theft at the Woodlands Swimming Complex was nabbed with the help of five quick-thinking members of the public.
On Aug 29 at around 3.50pm, a 30-year-old woman left her bag unattended at the gallery area while she was swimming.
The 21-year-old suspect walked by, took her bag and tried to escape.
One of the lifeguards on duty spotted him and gave chase. He managed to detain the man with the help of other staff and lifeguards.
The bag was returned to the woman and the suspect was handed over to the police.
The suspect will be charged in court on Aug 31.
If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to three years, a fine or both.
