A Thai woman is facing charges of trespassing after she parlayed a connection at the Customs Department to illegally enter Suvarnabhumi Airport’s passenger area in a bid to meet Korean actor Lee Jong-suk.
Airports of Thailand (AOT) said today that they found the unnamed woman using her friend’s employee card on Friday night so she could access the restricted area and wait for the Korean heartthrob right when he landed in the capital.
And how did she get caught? She bragged about it on Instagram right after breaking the law.
“Thanks Piano, my lovely friend for looking up Jong-Suk’s flight. Thanks Sai for taking me inside the arrival hall! I was the first who shook hands with him! My, my, my. I won’t wash my hand,” she said in an IG story. We’re guessing the friend who lent her the employee card was probably less than thrilled with being named.
It’s likely she would have gotten away with it had another Jong-suk fan — one who waited in the meet-up area like everyone else — decided to take her moral outrage (and/or jealousy) out on the woman by sharing it on Twitter.

She also posted a photo of herself saying that she will have to “disguise herself as a Customs officer” to get in. Sigh.

AOT director Sirote Duangrat said in a statement distributed to media today that the woman in our story was only one of two to illegally access the passenger area that day. The other did it the exact same way, only with the help of another employee.
AOT is now taking legal action. Both are being charged with trespassing in the restricted area of the airport at night, which could land the two in prison for up to five years. They also face a potential fine of THB100,000 (US$3,000).
Meanwhile, the two Customs officers will also be charged for assisting the fans. They have now been banned from the passenger area while AOT is in the process of interrogating them.
