Desaru waters at this time looks atrocious. Muddy and rough. You gotta be quite gutsy to surf at Desaru.

Be careful of the rough waters at this time of the year. Desaru and Cherating are some of the good beaches in Malaysia to surf. The waves may not be that big as compared to Bali's beaches, but it's still ok. Another good spot is at one of the beaches at Trengganu. Anyway Malaysian pristine beautiful beaches beat Singapore dirty beaches anytime.
