Sun Yat-sen's granddaughter dies after car accident
Nora Sun, a granddaughter of Sun Yat-sen – the Founding Father of Republican China – has died from injuries following a car accident.
She passed away at the Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital in Taiwan around 2pm on Saturday. Her family members were by her side.
Sun, 72, met with an accident while heading to the Taoyuan International Airport to catch a flight to Hong Kong. A vehicle, heading in the opposite direction, hit her car which was driven by a friend.
Sun suffered serious injuries to her chest and abdomen, resulting in multiple traumas, lacerations of the liver and internal bleeding.
Sun was a Chinese American diplomat and businesswoman. She returned to Taiwan to attend the Taipei International Flora Expo.
