Student sent to girls' home for making false police report
SINGAPORE: A 15-year-old girl has been sent to a girls' home for 24 months for making a false report to the police.
The secondary school student had lied to two police officers that she had sex with a bus driver in February this year at Punggol Park.
The two police interviews took place at Gracehaven Home in June this year.
In sentencing, District Judge Edgar Foo said the girl is "not unknown" to them and that "she has been in the system".
He told the minor's parents that their daughter has an issue "about attachment to an older person", and correcting this would take time.
