Stranger exposes himself to maid everyday

A man has been harassing a maid everyday by exposing and touching himself in front of her.
The harassment has been taking place at Block 6, near the Farrer Road station on the Circle Line. Twenty-four year-old Yanni, a foreign domestic worker from Indonesia, takes an 89-year-old woman under her care for a walk outside the block at about 4-5pm every evening.
The elderly woman is the mother of Xu Xiang Qian, a 60 year-old self-employed man, who hired Yanni to look after his mother. Yanni has been in Singapore for just over a year.
Mr Xu said that at the time these incidences occurred, his mother had just had surgery and was recuperating at home. To relieve the boredom of being at home all the time, the mother would ask Yanni to take her downstairs for a walk each day.
Yanni said that during these walks she noticed a man, dressed in a t-shirt and very high-cut shorts, who would sit by a nearby lift or post box to watch them. After watching for some time, the man started following them wherever they went.
“Sometimes I glanced back at him. Whenever he saw me do that, he would lift up his shorts and touch his genitals. I would feel very disgusted. He smiled every time he saw me react,” Yanni said. After this continued for a few weeks, the maid finally gathered the courage to tell her employer about this. Mr Xu decided to confront the pervert.
At around 4.30pm on 18 June, Mr Xu asked Yanni to walk his mother as usual, only this time he trailed them discreetly. According to Mr Xu, the pervert appeared as expected. Mr Xu quickly ran up to the man and shouted at him. “Once the pervert realised he had been discovered, he ran away hastily,” said Mr Xu.
According to Yanni, the pervert looked like he was in his 30s, was of medium build and fair complexion. She believed that he might live in Block 6, as she has seen clothes that looked like the same ones he usually wore hanging in an apartment in the same block.
Mr Xu said that the block’s design made it desolate and quiet, and the MRT exit led straight to the bottom of the block and not the elevator level, leaving the latter deserted. He also pointed out that there was a small hill behind the block that cut if off from neighbouring private property.
He said he hope that the police would increase patrols in the area to avoid similar incidents from happening.
