My friend who subscribed to Straits Times two months ago due to freebies have immediately cancelled his subscription with effect from 1 May 2011. He finds the news not very objective and not value for money.
Many Singaporeans find the editors, reporters, news coverage not very objective too. The past few weeks have seen them giving opposition a bad Public Relations and biased reportings. PAP were painted positively by Pro-PAP Straits Times that conclude SPH is a PRO-PAP establishments. After election, the newspaper will see many withdrawal symptoms and Singaporeans will now rely on internet for no-hold-bar news and more up-to-date uncensored discussions.
A friend who worked in civil service also feel that he has now hardly rely on main stream media to make his personal decision in the election campaigning. He too has participated aggresively in forum discussion. Looking at all PAP candidates whom many have not gone through election battle and can't talk properly in rally, he is determined to vote for opposition parties.
Dooms day for SPH.
