I recall my days as a NSF and NSman. It was not the physical training that contributed to my mental woes, but having to cope with outdoor training in SG's sweltering heat and humidity. To add to my problems, I was concerned about my wife, young children and responsibilities at work during my ICT every year. These are genuine problems faced by our soldiers that foreigners have no clue about.

Similarly, some elite spawn is complaining to their big shot parents how mentally exhausting NS is. Then the parents, who are friends with ministers, brought their son to a psychologist, and was advised to be treated for PTSD.

It's not that difficult to figure out.

The Govt must compensate taking the best years of our lives as young men, setting us back by 2.5 years in terms of our tertiary education and careers, not to mention causing many of us to lose our JC girlfriends when they went onto NUS and NTU while we were in NS.

What is the justification for the situation whereby the new Citizen is exempted from serving NS,..and gets a head-start in Job Placement over the incumbent Singaporean Male ?
