新加坡傳媒報道，新加坡前總理吳作棟兒子吳仁軒（Goh Jin Hian）因涉嫌虛假交易新絲路集團（ New Silkroutes Group，星：BMT）股份，遭新加坡警方和金管局提出39項控罪，涉及證券及期貨相關控罪。吳仁軒現年54歲，為投資控股公司新絲路集團的前行政總裁，與他一同被控的包括3名新絲路集團前任或現任高層。

新加坡近月政界爆出多件醜聞，包括交通部長易華仁（S. Iswaran）7月因反貪調查而停職，而國會議長陳川仁就因與黨友維繫婚外情而辭任，令當地政商界清廉形象受損。
