STOMPer Anonymous is furious about the service rendered by the bus drivers from Starmart Express. The drivers drove recklessly, sped, and did not have any stopovers for toilet breaks.
“I just came back from my KL Trip and I would like to share my bad experience with the buses from Starmart Express.
“Beware of the buses from this company. Although their buses look new and nice, it is only on the surface. Beneath that, the drivers are giving a very bad name for the company.
“They drive recklessly, speed like nobody’s business and do not make any stopovers/toilet breaks.
“I am very furious by the service rendered by the drivers from the company. They are spoiling the name of Air Asia too!
“On Friday night, I boarded AGQ9933 to Kuala Lumpur. After Tuas checkpoint, the driver stopped over at a dining place very near to Tuas Checkpoint for 20minutes and told us that he would not be stopping at Yong Peng.
“Shouldn’t the bus be stopping over at Yong Peng instead of another place? Are they being paid a commission for stopping over elsewhere?
“The journey continued and the driver drove very fast all the way to KL. Even on KL main roads, he sped on the extreme right lane, overtaking many cars.
“We nearly met with an accident somewhere near Times Square. Upon reaching, the driver apologized for the rush as he was in a hurry.
“There were two drivers on board. Why did only one driver complete the whole journey while the other driver was sleeping all the way? I understand they might want to knock off early but they are putting the lives of 20 human beings in danger.
“For my return trip to Singapore on Saturday, I boarded the last bus, AGR2112. We left Times Square at 1145pm and we reached Tuas Checkpoint at 0300am. The driver was driving over 120km/h and possibly 160km/h, otherwise, how was it possible for us to reach at such an early time?
“This time round, we did not even have any stopover. Aren’t buses supposed to stop at Yong Peng? There was not even a toilet break for us. It is ridiculous!
“On the return trip, there was only one driver. Aren’t there supposed to be two drivers?
“I told the bus driver that I wanted to alight at Tuas Checkpoint and he told me to walk to the taxi stand outside. Upon checking with an Aetos Officer, I found out that there wasn’t any taxi stand.
“Luckily the bus did not leave and I went back to the bus. The driver spoke to me rudely and did not want to stop me anywhere near Tuas Checkpoint.
“What was even more surprising was that he was speeding at 120km/h on AYE and ECP and occasionally dropping to 110km/h. He even passed through the speed camera at AYE at 110km/h. A bus driving at such a high speed in Singapore, I hope the Traffic Police is able to catch him.
“With such a bad and dangerous experience, I hope that the company, StarMart Express at Golden Mile, can look into the matter seriously. It is damaging the image of the company.
“Even though the bus states ‘First Class Massage Coach’, it is definitely not first class!”
STOMP is contacting Starmart Express for a comment.
