</TR><!-- headline one : end --><!-- show image if available --></TBODY></TABLE>

<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->WE REFER to the letter by Ms Maybel Tang where she raised concerns regarding sitting and waiting within our hotel lobby ('Bad experience at top hotel', Sept 16).
We have highlighted her feedback and concerns directly with the employees on duty on the day in question.
We were obliged to disperse an increasingly congested crowd for safety and security reasons at various times during this day when there were high-level celebrities staying in the hotel and a press conference for the celebrities was also held.
All our guests have the right to their privacy as well as easy access and movement throughout our premises at all times. The St Regis Singapore is also responsible for the personal safety and security of all our guests and visitors while in the hotel.
The St Regis Singapore has created a comfortable environment where guests and visitors are able to relax and wait within our lobby. We also have the Drawing Room, an all-day cafe lounge, where refreshments can be ordered.
Providing guests with a wonderful experience is our objective.
We thank the writer for her feedback and apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused to our guests on the day in question. Denise Tan (Ms)
Director of Rooms
St Regis Singapore

Her reply in short is don;t loiter at the lobby if you have no business there or if you don;t have the money to spend at St Regis.

Its very obvious there is a class discrimination there as St Regis only caters to the super rich. Its saying that if you come there, make sure you spend at the outlets else get lost.

Actually, she's right.
Why should people not staying in the hotel or not eating at the restaurants or not buying from the shops be allowed to sit inside the hotel.?
