Phone lines, nets and credit card machines at were down for about 26 hours at shops in Jalan Kayu, resulting in sales losses and angry customers.
STOMPer PP wonders if the delay was due to the mess of wires along the stretch.
The STOMPer wrote:
“It is unacceptable that our phone lines were down for about 26 hours from about 4pm on Monday (Aug 2) till about 6pm on Tuesday (Aug 3).
“Shops and residents’ Singtel phone lines, faxes and internet services are disrupted.
“Shops’ credit card and nets machines were also out resulting in loss of sales and angry customers.
“There were a mess of wires outside units 225 and 227 along Jalan Kayu at the Singtel Telephone distribution points and there were more stretched along the ‘five-foot-way’ at the shophouses.
“Maybe these are the reasons why Singtel took so long to troubleshoot and restore Jalan Kayu’s residential and shops telephone lines!
“The affected shop owners still have not received any official explanation from Singtel regarding this saga and that has caused great inconveniences to the shop owners, residents and customers over at Jalan Kayu.”
