The earlier generations of ST journalists make no apology for their allegiance to the Party. The modern day journalists try to appear objective in their writing, but end up looking lame and like hypocrites.

Old timers like cheong yip seng, leslie fong, and Peter lim had a more challenging time balancing LKY's demands and credibility of the paper. They still had some journalistic conscience in them. But not the current bunch. Head of media Anthony Tan is a former civil servant, and through and through Party man.
He doesn't care about press credibility cos he has no bloody idea about media. He's just a highly paid jaga. As for editor in chief Warren F, he was actually earmarked to stand for election as PAP candidate long time ago. What a farce! Big joke!
